Personality:
Strange, brash, confident, finicky, and fussy are all words that describe Acui. He is well known for being an "odd duck," as the saying goes, always the black sheep in a crowd. He goes long periods without talking, especially if he's working on something, and barely eats or sleeps -- just enough to keep himself going. Acui keeps himself in the Lyran Gestalt for equally long periods of time, sometimes so long that he forgets to do things and forgets about appointments. Without his personal assistant, Narre, he'd probably be a zombie. Acui is without a sense of personal boundaries, even for a Lyran, and possesses very little in the way of tact. He'd prefer to walk around naked if he could, and frequently does when humans aren't around, not ashamed of his body whatsoever.

Gangly, underweight, with short-ish dark brown hair. He dresses strangely, in clothes that don't necessarily match (unless his assistant plans his wardrobe, which he frequently does for work); his dressing method is "put on clothes until covered, move on." He prefers walking around barefoot and tries to get away with it as much as possible.
Background:
Acui was born in Port Azure, where, as a child, he learned to largely abhore civilization in general, mostly due to the human population. His parents moved to Illuminaris when he was ready to apply for an academy, mostly because of the scuffles and trouble that Acui -- even as a thin, knobbly boy -- had gotten up to in Port Azure. Acui was, nonetheless, startlingly intelligent, primarily interested in the fields of chemistry, botany, and zoology. He obtained highest honors in zoology and chemistry, but had had some trouble with his botanist mentor who claimed, because of his quirks, that he was a crazy person. Leaving the academy in a huff, but with his (new) reputation mostly undamaged, Acui went to work for scientists who were cataloging Gahaieae. He worked with them for many years, building a reputation as a keen omni-disciplinary scientist with some heavy "quirks", before he contracted a terrible disease which permanently affected his lungs, preventing him from any kind of strenuous physical activity. Acui was sent back to Illuminaris, working for a couple of different science labs for many, many years to come. In recent years, he's become a sort of scientific consultant, having acquired working knowledge in many disciplines.
Abilities:
Acui's level of intelligence hovers around very brilliant and mostly brilliant. He would have made more of a splash in the scientific community if he played better with others. As such, he is a master in the field of chemistry and zoology, focusing but not limited to herpetology for the latter. He's also quite gifted in botany, but prefers fungus over flowering plants. Other disciplines he knows his way around, but isn't by any means a master of, include: biology, seismology, marine biology, agrostology, geology, epidemiology.
Hobbies/Religion:
Like all Lyrans, Acui looks down on religion. Due to his extensive scientific background, he has a particular brand of impatience with the subject, to the point of deriding anyone who believes in the stuff. He has a lot of (mostly unhealthy, or unhygenic) hobbies that relate to his scientific disciplines, like having a room of his home dedicated to the growing of molds and fungus.

Personality:
Bold and energetic. Darya doesn't back down from anything, especially if she's angry, and she can get just as vulgar and crude as anyone else. "Spunky" is another good word for her. At times, her sheer amount of determination's gotten her in trouble, and nearly destroyed her career, but it's also made her a reliable and trustworthy individual. Still, she's not a fan of authority, and doesn't like it when she gets forced around.

Somewhat stocky in build, with large calluses from working with heavy equipment. Her hair is tied back in two ponytails, usually. She has a slight limp in her left leg from an old injury, but overall moves with fluid grace and dexterous fingers.
Background:
Darya was born to an embittered family situated in Dargnir Harbor, on the Oisir continent of Demeter. Her childhood was made up of exploring the tundra and creating fantasies in her head of different worlds and different peoples. When it was time to decide her career, her family was less than thrilled that she chose the Transportation Fleet. So thrilled, in fact, that they all but disowned her, making her early training a very bitter experience. To cope, she sort of reinvented herself as a slightly harder person, tossing her anxieties to the wind and embracing the new and unusual. She was given a new family, of sorts, in the Fleet, and was quite grateful for their company at certain times and holidays when visiting your family is customary. She's not seen her real family since she left, and hasn't made any plans to go back. It wasn't all sunshine and roses in the Fleet -- her brash nature and overall problem with authority made her unpopular with superiors. This came to a head when she was almost forced from her favorite ship, the Osiris, because her superior simply wanted her to be someone else's problem. Though Darya raised her fist, she didn't strike her superior, and he didn't strike her. There was an inquiry and then the both of them moved on from that incident. Ever since, Darya has stayed on the Osiris -- her baby, even though her baby constantly shudders and threatens to fall apart.
Abilities:
Darya is both a good mechanic and a good pilot, which has come in handy more than a few times while en route to a destination. She plots courses quickly and thinks even faster. Darya is, quite simply, a technical thinker -- she'd be rubbish at philosophy, but she can identify a mechanical problem in almost no time at all.
Hobbies/Religion:
Though she's not religious in a big sense, Darya does believe in a higher power of some kind. She doesn't know if it's the mysterious Benefactors, a positive power somewhere beyond mankind's reach, or something secretive and malevolent out in the universe. In her spare time, Darya likes to play "bar" type games, drink and tell stories.
